From the forums it looks like the only solution to the problem is to contact Pioneer support and request a replacement head unit. Users have tried checking for issues with the GPS antenna, cable or port and haven't found any problems.Going through Pioneer support can be time-consuming. The other option is contacting the place you purchased the receiver from and hoping they will replace it for you if you're lucky. One AVIC-5000NEX user reported the problem resolved itself when he turned his car off and back on. Other affected head units so far according to the AVIC411 thread are AVIC-6000NEX and AVIC-8000NEX.This issue has affected only a handful of units.
Apart from the thread on AVIC411, we couldn't find any other users reporting the issue. If your NEX head unit has run into this problem, let us know in the comments below.Source. AnonymousBought mine through Amazon on november 28 from HookedOnTronicsWorked for 2 days until i got that error.
Tried (reset, unplug, reboot with and without gps antena) changed languages. Turn off the car engine came back 1 hour later.
Again came back 7 hours later too. Crusader kings 2 interesting characters. Im still getting the same error. Now im canadian, amazon is US.
How am i gona get it fixed? If i have to ship it back its going to cost me a shipping cost. And i can't ship it regular because its a dam expensive package. So i need to register it.Once they receive, what then.
Are they going to ship me another deffect one from the same batch? Not to mention that i have to take it out of the car and have the previous radio installed until they ship me a new one or repaired one. I had the same issue but it started when I plugged in my iPhone and selected a route home from my phone not the receiver. I disconnected the phone shut the radio off tried to reset it and nothing. But as I found out it happens because I was trying to use my phones gps and not the radio.
So I rebooted my cell and shut off the receiver shut the car off after I neared the recovers fans shut off then started the car again and connected the iPhone again and no problem it fixed itself. I hope this can help a few people. What I forgot to add is that I did a firmware upgrade a few days before because I was having other problems like static when I hooked my phone to the receiver and pressed now playing it would get static and stop playing. But when I hit that button again it was fine. It only happens when I hit that button for the first time I hooked up my phone to the radio. This happened to my 8100NEX.
Spend $1000 on a unit that lasted maybe two months and the Sirius and GPS failed. Of course they make you do the factory reset and loose all your settings.
Head Unit Not Coded Correctly Bmw E87
But what for me that matter when you can't use the GPS or Sat radio you subscribe to. At least AM/FM and Bluetooth still function. Pretty sure I could get a radio cheaper with these features. It's a problem that pioneer NEEDS to confess to. It's been documented the same issues are plaguing these units and not a peep, other than to send it it for repair.
Head Unit Not Coded Correctly Ne Demek
I would suggest never buying products from them again until they admit to this manufacturing defect. It's an obvious hardware problem (internal to radio). If they keep doing this.don't be surprised by a class action law suit. Pioneer 5100 NEX piece of shit. First Sirius totally disappears, and then 5 minutes later the GPS stops working with the error above. Called pioneer, and they said it is out of warranty by 3 weeks, so $230 repair, plus shipping.

I made the comment that I could buy a kenwood or JVC with the same features and spend less. His response, honestly I would do that and save some money, plus you wont be with out a unit for 2-4 weeks.I appreciate his honesty, but fuck you pioneer fuck you. Back to JVC or Clarion I go.
Greetings.firstly thanks to all the guys who post info on here, been reading hard on minor issues over last few months but now i need to join and ask!!Here goes.i drive total fail (2005 520i petrol m sport, no navigation, basic climate, single and multi play cd, bluetooth).no screen, no radio, cd etc, tried a few tips to reboot on here. Disconnected battery. All zero.took to good local specialist who services for me.they tell me its not the CCC but the 'head unit' which has failed and isnt communicating. Long chat with them and they have done all the tests and been into the dash.part from beemer circa 900 (cant recall excatly as i was momentarily blinded!!) and with all costs circa 1500 quid. In total fairness they said to think while they left the dash off and call them back!decided to leave that bill for now and ponder. They gave me a very sensible bill for all this and i`ve no gripe. They tell me the `head` has been upgraded as a part 9 times since my build date so it must be a BMW known issue.
But i need a unit made within last 12 months to ensure it all re codes and works in my car. They suggest i keep my eye out for a SH one and they will fit for me but note the dates as mentioned.i dont think they are going out of their way to fleece me but i need some advice as i REALLY dont need that bill.was a great car, and the longest i`ve ever owned a single vehicle. But today???!!!!any ideas welcomecheers.
E61 Head Unit Not Coded Correctly
Thanks both.sorry, i am not making myself clear, the garage implied that the part itself had been subject to numerous upgrades by BMW alomg the way, not the actual part in my car.the ccc/head unit is confusing me. When they called me i asked if it was the 'ccc' and they said no its the 'head unit'. I need to call them and clarify.will call in a favour hopefully with a mate at BMW dealers and see what i can get the part for.e bay items bother me as if tney arent as described and dont work then i`m doing even more labour ££. Plus most are premium sat nav and mine has no nav. Cant imagine its as easy as they say to just slot in an upgraded unit.will advise on what i do for others info.most annoyed as my Lotus was due about a grands worth of suspension work to make it nice and tight. Thats gone out the window.
Final outcome, for what its worth, should anyone search for this issue in the future.everyone advised against SH units on grounds of coding etc. Based on below i think they were right!BMW friend got me contact with local parts dept and his discount. VIN and reg supplied but when BMW sent part it was wrong, had DVD drive for nav. All their systems said this was right part!
NB the part with DVD was CHEAPER than the ultimately correct part from BMW without Nav!again no one could guarantee that the `cheaper` part with nav dvd would work, even if i didnt connect the navigation element. So i returned for refund, if i had fitted then no money back!gave up and left it all to PMW specialists on a fixed price basis (1600 quid as they said from day one).

They ordered from BMW and stripped. Part supplied was again wrong and wouldnt code, so third time lucky!PMW very straight, no charge for the `refit` caused by BMW wrong part.designed to be difficult is my summary, effectively one of the few things that dont seem fixable without a huge bill from BMW parts dept!
